Situated 5kms north of Nerja, a hillside village bordering the Almijara, Tejeda and Alhama National Park is the picturesque and elevated village of Frigiliana. Its beautiful church square and stunning views down to the sea, it is undoubtedly one of the best of the typical Andalucian "White Villages" and has won many awards for its outstandingly well kept condition and cleanliness.
The village is a labyrinth of narrow, cobbled streets lined with white-washed houses, and a number of the passageways or “pasajes“ frequently open onto a bar terrace or restaurant.
For four days at the end of August each year, Frigiliana hosts the Festival of the Three Cultures (Festival de las Tres Culturas), celebrating the region's historic confluence and co - existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish traditions through workshops, market stalls, gastronomy, and music. It is not to be missed!
